Changes

I believe that changes are most of the time beneficial. Even though they can be the opposite, it is always good to make new experiences and broaden your horizon. Ever since I’ve moved to Spain my life has been full of constant changes. I’ve never really experienced a permanent routine in Spain but for now I can’t complain, since I am just 25 years old and want my life to be exciting and full of new experiences.

I’ve been living for about 1 year and 7 months in Spain and next week I will start working at my fourth enterprise. Some of you might think: ‘whaaaat? Four different jobs in less than two years?’ I know it sounds very unprofessional and weird and I suppose that somehow it is, however I am convinced that our future is in our hands. So I won’t be sitting hee, sit and relax and wait for things to get better… I will do my best to improve things on my own. My working situation hasn’t been quite satisfying so far and I am convinced that I'll keep changing my jobs every six months until the day I find a job that’s worth keeping it. The positive aspect is that I’ve learned a lot in the last months and could take a glance at different kind of jobs. And believe me or not I feel like I am a Spanish job interview expert haha. I know all the questions and all the answers to the questions and I am not even excited anymore when a company invites me for a job interview.

Despite my change attitude I am quite hopeful that my next job will be finally THE ONE! I can’t even imagine what it’s like to not search every day for a new job but I am confident that one day I’ll get to know that feeling.

We have also moved recently to our third flat. I know this sounds so chaotic but I guess with the flat it’s the same than with the job: we keep looking for something until we’re happy with it. Our first flat was just a little studio which we actually liked but we knew from the beginning that we could just stay only a few months due to the contract. Our second flat was nice and bright but located right next to the highway (and when I write right next to the highway I mean that it was just like 8 meters away from it) and furthermore it was simply too big for the two of us. I guess flat number three is a nice solution but it is only temporary. Just that you know: most of the flats you rent in Spain are furnished so there’s no need to hire an expensive moving agency. We just pack our suitcase and a few more things and that’s it.

So as you can see my life is full of changes but don’t take it as a complaint. I am really grateful for every job opportunity I’ve had so far (even if some of them were really bad) and for all the things I could experience. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger is a true saying I guess. So don’t be afraid of changes. If you don’t like your job, quit it! If you want to go somewhere else, do it! I really encourage you to persuade your dreams, even though that means that others believe you’re crazy. Who cares?
